Submission Steps

Extended Abstract

Authors are invited to submit an extended abstract of about 800 words in length by 10th August 2021.

The extended abstract should:

  • Identify the central problem that the submission is tackling and the current understanding of this problem.
  • Introduce the most important references and the theory base for the research.
  • Outline the research questions for approaching and meeting the submission’s goal.
  • Describe the methodology, empirical base, analysis, and results.
  • And communicate the contribution to current understanding and practical implications arising from the submission.

For a research-in-progress submission, the abstract should outline how the study will be executed, and identify the main expected outcomes, contribution and practical implications.

All submissions must be uploaded to the ABEATS 2021 abstract submission portal.

Should you have any questions about the submission, please contact us at abeats@glasgow.ac.uk

Full Paper

Only accepted extended abstracts can be further developed into full papers.

Once the extended abstract has been accepted, the author(s) must submit their full paper using the template provided below. To be included in the conference programme and the conference website (only available to conference participants), accepted papers must be uploaded by November 15, 2021.

Full papers must have a clear theoretical base with explicit references to the already-existing research in the field. Papers should also make mention their contribution to current understanding and practical implications.

The template for full papers and the submission link will be provided at the closure of the abstracts submission.

All submissions must be uploaded to the ABEATS 2021 paper submission portal.

Please Note: Once the submission has been made on the system, authors will not be able to edit paper details such as title, author names, keywords etc. As this information will be displayed in the symposium programme & proceedings, please ensure that all information is recorded accurately on the original submission.

If you need to edit any paper details after submission, please contact the ABEATS 2021 organising committee at abeats@glasgow.ac.uk

Review Process

All submissions will undergo a double-blind evaluation by two Scientific Committee members with appropriate academic, scientific and industry expertise. Each abstract will be evaluated on the following points:

  • Relevance of submissions to the conference themes
  • Appropriateness and application of the selected research design
  • Scholarly or scientific quality for academics and practical implications and foundations for practitioners
  • Clarity of presentation
  • Contribution of the findings to current knowledge and managerial practice
  • Probability of stimulating interest, debate and insight to other participants

Decisions on acceptance or rejection will be communicated by the Organising Committee by 15 September 2021. Some submissions may be requested to address specific perceived shortcomings or omissions prior to submitting the full papers.
